Bannockburn Riesling 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Clear, bright appearance. Youthful straw colour with green tinges. The nose is very restrained. There are chalky, slate, mineral characters...sherbert in there as well. The citrus characters are present but very much in the background. It is actually quite reminiscent of a young warm vintage Mosel. The palate too is very reminiscent of young Mosel. Lots of flavour and presence without any phenolic hardness at the back. Lovely balance between sugar and acid. The lower alcohol creates the sensation of lightness on the palate. This wine is lovely now, chilled and drunk as an afternoon aperitif or put away in the cellar where i suspect it will evolve for many, many years.
