Banknote Wine Company the Vault Zinfandel Blend 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

The Vault by Banknote Wine Company is a dead ringer for Orin Swift's The Prisoner. Equally impressive is that this is the first vintage of this soon to be favorite. We fell in love with this wine for its striking similarity to The Prisoner and its tremendous quality. Prisoner fans will become Vault fans after the first glass which is an intense blend of Zinfandel Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The Vault has aromas of ripe blueberry red currant and spiced tobacco box. The palate shows flavors of cream de cassis cherry preserves vanilla and espresso on a long persistent finish. The Banknote Wine Company couldn't decide on which banknote to represent on the label so each case has 12 different labels (on average) with each bottle being individually numbered. [Only 585 cases produced]

while the blend is very similar, the wine is a bit more elegant and livelier than 'the prisoner' it's certainly a red I would easily recommend...
