Across Tuscany and anywhere wine is made, nature gives us its bounty. At Castello Banfi and throughout the varied terroirs and soils that make up our constellation of vineyards, we harvest the goodness of the earth, caressing and nurturing it as we craft our wine to express all its character in every bottle.

Pleasant wine, but seemed a bit weak on both the nose and the palate. Smooth tannins and relatively low acidity.

Wine Tasting NotesVery deep red color. Complex aromas of black fruit and spice. Supple and rich on the palate, with notes of jam, pepper and tobacco. Full-bodied and extremely concentrated. Although enjoyable upon release, it will also benefit from medium to long-term aging.

Castello Banfi's newest Super Tuscan cuvee, Cum Laude - Latin for "with honors" - combines 25% of a Banfi clonal selection of the Sangiovese grape with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 15% Syrah. Each wine is individually vinified and aged 14 months in French oak barrique to develop its unique style, then masterfully interwoven with the others to achieve an elegant bouquet and full, round flavor Cum Laude is characterized by a rich color and soft, ripe fruit flavors. The wine is complex with aromas of juicy berries and spicy cherries, as well as clove, anise and black pepper. As a full-bodied red with dense tannins, it marries well with all red meats, hearty stews, pasta dishes and cheeses
