Castello Banfi across all the products have a particular style and can be relied on. A Brunello di Montalcino is a big muscular wine that is full bodied and food friendly. This 2007 has a bold dark cherry start with balanced tannins that highlights liquorice with some lighter leather notes. Smooth finish.

Wonderful nose of dried flowers, orange peel, dark fruits and tanned leather. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a subtle fruity finish. Long and racy. Almost at the level of the great 2006. James Suckling. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2007 Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 750ml

Opens with a garnet-ruby color with hues of amber on the rim. Oak tones of spice and toasted nut still need time to integrate. The wine is bright tonic and slightly astringent with a firm polished disposition. Nice fruit tones of currant and cassis. Give it a few more years in the cellar. Wine Enthusiast.

Broad, smooth and quite full, with a much more refined texture and a stronger primary fruit component than the basic bottling. The sweet plum and currant fruit flavors are complemented but not overwhelmed by oak notes of coffee and mocha.
