Very nice, smooth wine for a 3 yr old.
Sweet but not cloying, tones of butterscotch and creme brulee with fine backbone acidity and a long finish. Great by itself or with cheese or nuts. We served it with classic flan. If there is any left over, it keeps on the shelf.
love it. not so strong, just right amount of heat and flavor, could rest more if you would like
External Reviews for Balvenie Scotch Single Malt 17 Year Madiera Cask
Clear dark reddish-copper in color, it breathes classic and very appealing Madeira scents of dried dates and figs and mixed nuts. Smooth and gently sweet, it's not a 'sticky' dessert wine but shows good fresh-fruit sweetness built on Madeira's sturdy core of tart, lemony acidity.
This Bual is a medium rich Madeira, quite dark in color and much appreciated as an accompaniment to desserts. Five years in oak casks have given this distinctive Madeira great concentration and flavor and a powerful albeit mellowed bouquet.
