Ballot-Millot et Fils Bourgogne Aligote 2009
“Domaine Ballot-Millot, a family farm located in Meursault, is full of the best climates, offers one of the most beautiful delicious illustrations of the Côte de Beaune’s flexibility of very large and fruity white like Meursault and Chassagne Montrachet…” *-www.ballotmillot.com*“Burgundy is already heralding 2009 as a great vintage. History is on the region’s side. The vintages on the "nines” have produced some memorable harvests—years like 1999, 1989, 1969, 1959 and 1949." *-Wine Spectator*

Though mostly famed for its use in the classic wine cocktail with creme de cassis Aligote (the other white Burgundy) is also capable of producing lovely crisp and light-bodied whites the best of which can be favorably compared to Chablis. Great for summertime sipping the Ballot Millot is zesty and inviting with lemon-lime green apple and lychee notes. Terrific as an aperitif it also works well with fresh salads light fish dishes or sushi.
