User Reviews for Baigorri Reserva

Winemaker's Notes:

The 100% Tempranillo grapes for this Reserva are hand-selected using vibration and sorting tables, and stalks are removed from the grapes without squeezing them. Pumping-over is natural; we use gravity in order to achieve the best extraction of polyphenols. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels before it is clarified and bottled without any type of filtration.

Tasting Notes:

The herbal, minty nose derives from the very character of Tempranillo, as well as from the American oak barrels used for the wine’s aging. The wine’s nose is rich, even approaching overripe aromas. In the mouth, it’s a very different animal: toast, red cherry, red currants, and spices.
