Babich Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Black Label 2009
This wine has a bouquet that is bursting with passionfruit, sweat, gooseberry and red current. The palate is rich, sweet fruited and complex with layers of guava, passionfruit and gooseberry. The acid/fruit balance is excellent with a lovely herbal flinty character and a lingering perfume on the finish. This is a reason why Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is so famous. Great with seafood or fish meals. Try with fresh oysters!

I could replace my morning grapefruit juice with this. Note: I actually drink orange juice in the morning, but if I drank grapefruit juice, I'd consider replacing it with this lovely wine. 92/100
I actually like the 2009 Babich Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc better. What's in a "black label" anyway? Would love this with a sandwich. 89/100
You'll notice ripe apples and a nose hinting of grapefruit zest combined with floral scents. The citrus / grapefruit flavor is more apparent in the mouth, but not overwhelming, with a touch of chalkiness and minerality. This wine holds a good body with some richness. It is dry with good acidity. This wine will pair well with fish, seafood, chicken... the usual suspects.

Not as rich as the 2000, but still a marvelous wine, tangy and dry. Opens with a burst of lime, gooseberry and spicy-smoky green-apple aromas that are fresh and clean. It has first-class slate and lime flavors and great acidity; it is a full, round, crisp wine that's utterly refreshing. The tart, citrus finish will perfectly complement a wide array of foods.
Solid and nicely spicy, with a baked apple vibe and refreshing notes of lemon, lime and fresh herb. Juicy on the finish. Drink now.
Fresh and fruity, this enticing white is top-heavy with appealing citrus aromas and flavors, showing a lot of peach and lime on the polished finish. Great price. Drink now.
Zesty and brimming with fruit describes this Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc - a lively mouthful of apricot, citrus, pear and fennel flavors that keep bouncing merrily through the finish. Given the price and score, it's a smart buy. Ready to drink.
Distinctively citrusy and herbal, with lime, grapefruit and mineral character adding depth to the lively, focused flavors. Drink now.
Displays rich aromas of gooseberry and complex herbal characters, pungent sweet musk and minerality with a touch of cinnamon. A zesty driving palate greets the taster, with gooseberry carrying through as does the minerality and herbal notes. A dash of passionfruit joins the fray. The succulent palate persists onto a long and mouth watering finish.
A bit softer and rounder than most 2002s from Marlborough, but still refreshing. Its lively balance shows off the melon, lime and spice flavors, echoing nicely on the finish. Consistently a very good wine. Drink now.
