Babcock Red Bordeaux Blend Santa Barbara County Fathom 2010

Member Review by VegasOenophile:

Nice ruby red color remaining at 10 years old. Lots of aromatics from the Franc. Rich red berry fruit and blackberry juice and hints of purple and slight menthol. Organ meats and smoked charcuterie come through with more swirling along with a damp soil influence. Light aromas of fresh leather and cola. On the palate, it's richly textured, and still highly tannic and dark. Smoky influences and charred oak. Dark minerality with strong graphite and woodiness. Rich red berry fruit accented by black and purple plum flavors. Lots of fruit skin. Great structure to continue aging well. I'd give it another 5 years solid. Perhaps 10 if stored right. Solid wine! 92 pts. 11/14/12 (Winesday)
