B.R. Cohn Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley Olive Hill Estate Vineyards 2008
The Olive Hill version pours a moderately deep violet color with some lighter red/brick colors on the sides. Showing some age. Lots on the nose. Currants, spices, dark berries and some vanilla. Starts off with plenty of currants of front that are blended with some blackberries. In the middle, the vanilla undertones come through, balancing the flavors. Finishes with more dark berries, some light spices, cedar and vanilla. There are some moderate tannins. Nice acidity. This wine is drinking well now and could be layed down for another 2-3 years as well.
The winemaker notes do a pretty great job (naturally) of describing this wine. Black cherry. Large amounts of cedar. Attactive notes of anise (or is it menthol). It's a beautiful nose. Balanced on the palate with a good amount of fresh tasting black cherry. Crisp acidity. The tannins aren't out of balance. Body is fine. Generally, I liked this wine much more on the nose than on the palate.
LOVED IT....big fruit and nice sift tannins...a pleasant surprise...recommended by store owner...montague wines on duh, montague street in brooklyn...great store by the way
This wine has undoubtedly matured since the first review listed by WS in 2003. Exquisite for a California Cab. The aroma was berry, mocha, and slightly smokey. The taste was very smooth, fully of dark berries, with a hint of tobacco, and minimal tannins. Well-balanced with a long and smooth finish.

Austere in style, tight and cedary, with a trim band of currant, tar, sage and berry. It's dense and concentrated; absolutely needs time to soften and evolve... Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 1995 Cohn, B R Cabernet Sauvignon Olive Hill Vineyard 750ml
Smooth, ripe, supple and harmonious, with pretty, ripe black cherry, wild berry, currant and plum. Finishes with firm, chewy tannins and a good dose of toasty oak. Still a bit awkward, but give it some time. Best from 2002 through 2010. 625 cases mad... Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 1995 Cohn, B R Cabernet Sauvignon Olive Hill Estate Vyd Special Selection 750ml
