Winery history: The farm was acquired in 1993, in the territory of the Classical area of the DOC of the Colli (hills) Bolognesi, the fields, at that time, were deprived of any cultivation,. Initially we planted 6.5 Ha of specialized vineyard of Pignoletto Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon and, in 1998, we realized the first small cellar for wine-making tests. In 2002 we planted other 5 ha of vineyard (Pignoletto, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) and in 2005 we completed the construction a new and modern wine cellar with a potentiality production of over 250,000 bottles/year. In 2006 we changed our organisation passing from an individual firm to a family run company. At the moment we use only self production grapes, but, for the future, we have already foreseen the acquisition of grapes from the surrounding land and a further extension of the cultivated surface, witch is today of around 22 ha. In the conduction of the cultivation and of the following wine-making, our maximum goals are the quality and the health of our wines, and in 2006, first year of real opening to the market and to the competitions, we achieved three prizes for the quality of our wines. This Year we’ve already obtained the “Bollino vignaioli Colli di Bologna” a very selective praise for excellence in our area, and the third prize in the competition of Monteveglio with our ASSOLO. The health of our wines is warranted by a certification, from our sanitary authorities, of absolute absence of residues of pesticides and Ocratoxsins, to the limits of the instrumental sensibility. Our techniques provide for wine-making in white, in red, with methods of cryo-maceration, refinement on the yeasts, aging in strokes of cement and /or wood, according to the ancient traditions, but in controlled atmosphere and checked temperature to guarantee the healthiest quality for the wines. Our target is to get a market niche of visibility and quality, that will never be characterized by big quantities of product, but that will always guarantee to our customer the taste and the memory of Bologna’s countryside. Following the expansion works of our cellar and the new vineyards we plan to reach the production of 250.000 bottles in about 3-4 years. AWE blind tasting - dark and medicinal again, spicy strawberry almost jammy fruit, nice and deep if not very complex, wow this is packed with sweet fruit, really pure with subtle complexities but this is all about expressing the purity of sweet strawberry fruit, there’s a touch of cocoa on the back end, which leads to a shortish finish 86-87
