Food Pairings for Azienda Agricola Taurino Cosimo Salice Salentino Riserva
Dull brick red with burnt orange rim, aromas of dried cherries, plums and red berries with baking spices, dried stone fruits, earth and leather with baking spice on palate with focused, balanced personality to a long finish. The BOMB! This '04 Reserva is still available from some specialty retailers. Don't pass up on this great value food wine from Apulia!
I was first exposed to Salice Salentino while dinning in a quaint, but very comfortable, restaurant in Amsterdam. A colleague told me the story of he and his wife recently traveling to southeastern Italy on vacation and having tried this blended wine. I fell in love with it immediately and have purchased (and consumed) several bottles since first tasting it in 2009. Our local wine source no longer stocks it. I am searching for a convenient (and inexpensive) supply near Houston, Tx.
Great delicious wine I enjoyed at frankies spuntino this week. Fruit but also quite complex
Had this wine at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles. Excellent wine for the value, and was perfectly paired with pizza and other Italian odds and ends!

Made from the Negroamaro grape in the region of Apulia, in Southern Italy, this delicious wine represents great value. Black fruit flavors combine with a slight herbal edge and finishes with firm tannins.
A wine of unmistakable personality, Taurino's Salice Salentino has introduced many Americans to the pleasure of Apulian wine. Intense ruby red in color with orange reflections, its unique flavor profile offers red berries, herbs and black cherries. On the palate, it is dry, well balanced and full bodied with a slight bitterness on the finish.
