Azelia Barolo Bricco Fiasco 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Nebbiolo: Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate 94 "The estates 2004 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is made in a slightly sweeter, but more linear, style than the Margheria. It reveals a concentrated expression of the hallmark qualities of this Castiglione Falletto vineyard in its perfumed aromatics, ripe red cherries, menthol and baking spices. With air the wine turns more muscular as it gains volume and depth in the glass. This is a beautiful and refined Bricco Fiasco from proprietor Luigi Scavino."

All its wines are estate-grown, with Luigi continuing to keep to the policies of his father, Lorenzo. The wines are made following the sound criteria found in smaller cellars, with scrupulous attention given to tending the vineyards and procedures in the winery, where great respect is maintained for tradition while benefiting from modern techniques. The following wines are produced: Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo and Barolo. The total output is around 60,000 bottles a year. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Spicy and aromatic on the nose. The palate is muscular, yet not overwhelming. Superb acidity and silky tannins. This wine will last for a long time! QC http://www.questionofwine.com
