Axiom Clare Valley March Riesling 2009
The wine is produced from premium grapes grown in the scenic Clare Valley in the area surrounding Sevenhill. The wine shows a passion for the preservation of primary fruit overlaid with subtle winemaking. The 2009 Axiom Riesling grapes are harvested in March to retain the length of acid and fruit ripeness, which gives the wine its own unique refreshing style. The balance of grapefruit and lime flavours complement the luscious fruitiness retained in the wine. Serve chilled.
Nose: grapefruit, lime, baked apple, icing sugar, mandarin. Palate: sweet grapefruit, lime, icing sugar, baked apple. Off-dry, with fresh sharp acidity. Well-balanced, elegant.
This is an off-dry, german style riesling and does it very well fresh citrus fruit up front, opulent mid palate and dry finish. I could drink this all day.
