This is one of my favorite wine's on Bar Italia's wine list, though I prefer the 2007 to the 2008. The 2008 has a nose of black cherry, roasted herbs, and smoky oak and follows with flavors of the same. Great fruit with a silky texture and nicely balanced oak. It lacks the dense black currants of the 2007 that I remember. The finish is lacking for me too. Still overall, consistently one of my favorite wines. A great food wine that I think will surprise Chianti aficionados who have never been introduced to Vino Nobile..

Delikate, vielschichtige Aromen von Waldbeeren, aber auch von Kastanien und dezente Noten vom Weinausbau offenbaren sich in der Nase. Sie lassen keinerlei Zweifel am hohen Qualitätsniveau entstehen. Im Gaumen zeigen sich die für die Toskana typischen Geschmackselemente: eine tiefe, dunkle Beerenfrucht, Anklänge an Trüffel und Schokolade. Saftige Gerbstoffe leiten zu einem lange anhaltenden, strukturierten und gradlinigen Abgang über. Ein gehaltvoller, mächtiger Vino Nobile aus der Toskana von ausgezeichneter Qualität.

Kräftiges Rubinrot. Ausgeprägter, intensiver Duft von Waldfrüchten, Kirschen und Vanille. Am Gaumen ausgewogen, vollmundig und rund mit gut integrierten Gerbstoffen, die dem Wein eine schöne Struktur verleihen. Schöner, langer Nachhall.

Rubin, mit granatfarbenen Akzenten. Sangiovese-typische Nase nach Erdbeeren, Backpflaumen und Zwetschgen, gepaart mit sanften Röstaromen nach Schokolade und Crème brûlée, etwas Wildleder auch. Mit viel Eleganz bezaubert der rassige Gaumen, Preiselbeeren und Dörrpflaumen, auch etwas Zimtwürze, insgesamt wohlstrukturiert und mit gut eingebundenen Tanninen versehen, langes Finale, das Potenzial aufzeigt.
