What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Grapes: Merlot (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). Intense, ruby red in color. Its bouquet is delicate and persistent, with a slight scent of wild fruits; the taste is full bodied, harmonious and round. Desiderio is an outstandingly delicious Merlot from Cortona with a soft, yielding personality and loads of sweet cherry-berry nuances. The wine boasts excellent complexity thanks to the playful notes of peppermint, herbs, root beer and cola that give it undying persistency and intensity. -Wine Enthusiast Editor's Choice 95 Points

Very dark purple, edging on black in the glass. Aromatically explosive, berries, vanilla, cedar, cassis and chocolate. Completely full bodied and luscious, tremendous mouth feel, supple, silky tannins, fruity all the way down with a super long satisfying finish. Great QPR. 93 Points
