Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Conducted a blind tasting last night with Avalon California 2007 against three similarly-priced 2007 Cabernet Sauvignons, also from California. This bottle was the hands-down winner capturing four of seven first-place votes. Irony and Liberty School finished a close 2nd and 3rd, with Dominican Oaks a distant fourth. Avalon has a gorgeous finish with hints of nutmeg on the nose. Perfect wine for any pasta with a red sauce, pork loin, etc. Easily could be mistaken for a $20-$25 bottle of Cab. Save me a case please!

Purpur-Granat.

This California Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits rich, slightly smoky aromas of cherries, boysenberries and chocolate. A minimum of eight months aging in French and American oak barrels softened the wine and imparted subtle notes of vanilla and spice.

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes Aromas of plum, cherry, boysenberry and a def inite blueberry note with oak notes of caramel and cedar. This wine always drinks easy in luscious fruit f lavors similar to that of a berry pie with a white chocolate component.
