Winemakers Notes

The 2008 Aura Syrah RosŽ is our first wine to be released from the 2008 vintage and a strong expression of this bold vintage. Don't let the appellation designation fool you; this RosŽ is made from five extraordinary vineyards including our estate, Fairview, Coastview, Black Ridge and Booker, this wine demonstrates the universal bold ripeness achieved in each of the appellations. Notes of pineapple, lichee fruit, jasmine, and minerality characterize the nose. The Aura RosŽ has beautiful body and and full palate coverage with a vibrant, refreshing acidity that carries the fruit across read more...the palate. The surprisingly long finish has a richness and structure one doesnÕt usually associate with or expect from a RosŽ. Barrel fermented in used French, but not neutral, oak with indigenous yeast fermentation. RosŽ are becoming increasingly popular as they are so versatile, and when made in an artisinal way from extraordinary fruit, they have come a long way from rosŽ wines you may have tried previously. The attractive price and refreshing qualities makes this a great wine to serve chilled at summer BBQs and parties.    (hide)
