August Cellars Pinot Noir Oregon Yummy! 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Our 2007 Rosé is made from the "free-run" juice of Pinot Noir that is captured off of the crush line. This juice sees no time on the skin and so is essentially clear. The federal government requires us to call it a Rosé as it is the process of making a white wine from a red grape. (Although we could call it Pinot Noir blanc and charge a whole lot more!) This wine leads with aromas of star fruit and pear, followed by lemon and lime on the palate. Our Rosé has an incredible balance of fruit and acidity allowing it to have both by itself on the back deck or with sweet and savory foods. 2007 was a cool year with a wet harvest, keeping sugar levels down and making for a classic Oregon vintage not seen since 2004 and before that the mid 1990's Sugar: 3%

August Cellars, home to multiple wineries, is located just east of Newberg Oregon at 14000 NE Quarry Rd. Our tasting room is open daily from May until the middle of October, 11-5 p.m.. We are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday year round. August Cellars believes that having multiple wineries under one roof allows the consumer to taste several different philosophies about wine with only one stop. Our in-house wineries mainly produce very small lots of Pinot Noirs, although one can always taste some of the more adventursome wines being produced here. Our goal is two fold: - Produce affordable table wines. - Keep our family farm operating. August Cellars is a family owned winery situated at the bottom of our orchards. This farm land was purchased in 1942 and our family has been farming it continuously since then. Being located in Oregon, August Cellars produces, Pinot Noirs, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztaminer and Maréchal Foch. Read less
