Audelssa Estate Winery Summit(2004)

The 2004 Summit, a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, exhibits aromas of gravel, smoke, black cherries, cassis, and earth. In the mouth, lavender, blueberry, and black cherry characteristics also emerge. It is an elegant, complex, youthful yet accessible red that should drink well for 10-12 years.

This wonderful blend is a refreshing take on a classic French wine. Deep and intense with flavors of cassis and tobacco, this wine is also quite drinkable. The soils at this elevation offer a pronounced minerality that works well with the fruitiness of the wine. A solid buy.

The impression of the wine is lush, smooth and supple aromas showing dark saturated fruit and moderate impact of oak. The flavors show beautifully integrated black cherry, berry, java and toasty mocha. Creamy on the finish.
