Bright red. Fresh red berries and spices on the nose. Firm, slightly hard-edged redcurrant and cherry flavors gain flesh with air and pick up a subtle floral quality. Nicely brisk if a tad firm, with good finishing clarity and bite.
Vibrant and heady, this wine's full-throttle flavors of juicy red fruit and red apple skin have plenty of complex spice. It's not powerfully structured, but it is mouthwatering, the kind of bottle that two people can open and easily finish. For roast quail.
Light, bright red. High-pitched aromas of sweet red berries, rose and spicecake. Light in body and fresh, with no fat and a tangy edge to the moderately concentrated strawberry and raspberry flavors. Finishes firm and slightly dry, with no obvious tannins and decent persistence.
Tasting Notes - This is an amazing wine for the price. With so many Pinots shooting up in price this is still a perfect by-the-glass wine. Drink this with any grilled meat; the smoky flavors really bring out the best in this wine. The structure of this wine will hold together for many years, it is drinking well right now and will improve and evolve for another 3 or 4 years.
High-toned cherry and strawberry fruit ride above this winersquo;s ample texture. Therersquo;s a touch of bitterness in the tannin to balance the fruit, finishing clean and tight in its youth. Decant for braised rabbit or other gamey meats.
If you want exceptional California Pinot Noir for your money – look no further. This well-balanced Pinot has rich, red-raspberry fruit with smoky notes. This delicious wine is a natural choice with food. By hand-selecting the grapes from the best fruit Santa Barbara has to offer and through careful bottling, this winemaker does his job.
