External Review by Fame Wine and Tobacco:

The style of this wine combines the richness of a California Chardonnay with the crisp beautiful finish of a white French Burgundy. Fruit from Jim's Le Bon Climat Vineyard.

"One-quarter of this aromatic, velvety-textured red came from the famed Byron Vineyard, which yields fragrant notes and flavors of violet, lavender, black cherry and cranberry. Truffle notes follow the initial burst of flavors, along with hints of sassafras, ground white pepper and cardamom, before mouth-tingling tannins close it all up. Enjoy with Cornish game hens stuffed with foie gras."

Quite extracted, slightly jammy bouquet, but good fruit. Better on palagte, smoother and riper, oak quite present, good potential complexity.
