What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

Notes on the Au Bon Climat Chardonnay Santa Barbara 2005 : WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: 90 POINTS Tight, intense and flinty, with rich, complex yet delicate pear, floral and peach flavors that are elegant and stylish. Most impressive is the finish, where the subtlety of the wine is displayed. Drink now through 2010. 600 cases made. Wine Spectator June 15, 2007 J.L.AU BON CLIMAT CHARDONNAY SANTA BARBARA 2005

Reviews

Cool ocean breezes allow for a long, even ripening season, making Santa Barbara County an ideal place for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This Chardonnay is remarkably concentrated and complex.

Very very oaky wine. Lots of spice from that. Some light floral notes. Fine, but a total oak bomb.

Nice Chardonnay. Light on the oak, very tasty. Good value.

A punch in the face of a Chardonnay! The nose is floral and pleasant, but watch out for that bite.
