Au Bon Climat 25th Estate Chardonnay Chardonnay Central Coast Santa Maria Valley 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Jim Clendenen has been making wonderful wines since establishing his winery in 1982. It was then that he and Bob Lindquist of Qupe built the airy, modern winery they share in the middle of Bien Nacido vineyard and within a few years succeeded in putting Santa Barbara on the winemaking map. Jims wines continue to combine Burgundian sensibility with Californian style. This chardonnay reflects Jim's ideal: superb concentration without over-ripening ... low alcohol with strength and persistence. A special bottling that celebrates the terroir of the Clendenen family's "Le Bon Climat" vineyard.
