Really strong plastic smell, most likely a flawed bottle. I'm not going to rate it until I try a second bottle.
Ripe apple, bordering on overripe apple aromas. In the mouth there's more apple and some citrus.
Strikingly pungent oily, petrol, plastic nose. Tart finish with petrol flavors. There's some quince, and pears in there, but the Riesling's petrol dominated, and the wine was overly tart. I think the semi-dry Riesling from this winery is more to my tastes.
This riesling was a bit dry, with lots of vanilla and honey flavors. Not my favorite wine, but could make for good dessert.
Chemical/plastic taste, but nice apple flavors too.
Peaches, pears dominate this off-dry wine. Not bad, and would work well with food - spicy cuisines, Asian etc. Good finish. Tasted at the winery.
Nice minerality. Acid lens some nice crispness to the wine. Very emollient and some nice citrus (lime) and peach tones. Tasted at the winery.

Chiseled but juicy, displaying green apple and lime notes that drive through the slate-filled, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2009.
Atwaterrsquo;s Dry Riesling is done in the ldquo;Kabinettrdquo; style of the Rheingau in Germany. It exemplifies the lightness and delicacy attributed to fine Kabinett wines. This aromatic, crisp wine is delightfully complementary to chicken, fish or light pork dishes.
One of the Finger Lakes most notable varieties, Atwater Estate vineyard's 2006 dry Riesling is made in the "Kabinett" style of the Rheingau region of Germany; referring to wines of "superior quality". Engagingly aromatic, this wine's unique character is a union of our vineyard's slate soils, steep slopes and mature Riesling vines. Revealing hints of honey, fresh herbs and lime, try this vintage with seafood and bold cheeses.
Riesling produces aromatic light to medium-bodied wines. They can have exceedingly complex aromas with floral, herbal and spicy aromas combined with honey and fruit. Our vineyards reap the benefits of Lake Effect temperature control from Seneca Lake that creates less severe extremes in winter and summer, and buffers against spring and fall frosts. The vines are planted in a shallow layer of topsoil on sloping shale beds. If we had our way with Mother nature every year, we would ask her to give us the right amount of sun and rain so that we may receive a plethora of Riesling grapes from the vineyards.
