Attems Pinot Grigio Venezia Giulia IGT Cupra Ramato 2009
Winemaker's Notes:
Wine Tasting Notes Cupra Ramato exhibits a quite distinctive coppery hue. The nose opens slowly, to subtle notes of spring blossoms, followed by notes of fruit that tend to the tropical, particularly pineapple. On the palate it reveals elegance, fine balance, and a firm structure, at the same time crisp yet with a velvet-smooth texture. It concludes with a long-lingering finale. It is perfect when paired with fatty fish, with delicate or vegetable-based antipasti, the ideal companion to summer dishes, and is delicious as well as an aperitif.
Editorial Reviews for Attems Pinot Grigio Venezia Giulia IGT Cupra Ramato
13% $19 This is the classic copper colored wine that was traditionally produced from Pinot Grigio grapes in the north of Italy. The nose here blends earthy pollen tones with heirloom apple notes and a hints of spice and old wood with a faint vanilla note. Bright and juicy on entry this has blazing acids and real richness that lends this an almost lush feel with bright and juicy orange flecked with sour cherry and almond milk notes. There's a touch of tannin that peaks out on the succulent finish which shows flashes of pink grapefruit and wild strawberry before yielding to a nice spice tone on the finale. Very complex and decidedly not your real Housewife's Pinot Grigio. I'm digging this for it's richness and depth. 90pts

Add your reviewGolden color, with red apples in the aroma, flowers, and basil. The mouth tastes a little bit of fennel, and nice apple fruit on the mid palate to finish. Light body but good flavors.
