Atteca Old Vines Garnacha 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

It is deep cherry. It has intense aromas of red ripe fruit (ripe raspberry) which combine perfectly with the psicy notes of cacao, vanilla and licorice corresponding to a noble aging. It is very fresh and fruity in the mouth. It has a notable ending where fruity and spicy aromas come back via retro-nasal. It is a magnificent expression of an elegant Garnacha from Aragon.

Bodegas Ateca's 2010 Garnacha de Fuego is 100% old-vine (65-85 years of age) Garnacha from the DO of Calatayud. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up aromas of pure black cherries and violets. Dense on the palate and remarkably rich for its humble price, this great value over-delivers big-time. Drink this pleasure-bent effort over the next 3-4 years.

Old vine Grenache from hillside vineyards, Atteca from Bodegas Ateca is robust and layered with rich plum and blackberry aromatics surrounded by smoke and spice notes.

Deep, bright ruby. Intense red and dark berry aromas are complemented by potpourri and smoky herbs. Broad, palate-coating dark fruit flavors become brighter with air and show a distinctly spicy character. Finishes with very good clarity and juicy persiste

Displays aromas of cedar, an earthy minerality, black cherry, and lavender leading to a savory, deep, well-balanced red with succulent fruit and a lengthy, seamless finish.
