Atteca Armas Old Vine Red 2007
91 points Josh Raynolds (IWC): (100% garnacha, from vines reportedly 80 to 120 years of age)... Ripe boysenberry and blueberry on the nose, with licorice and graphite... Juicy dark berry preserve flavors show palate-saturating depth and impressive clarity, picking up smoky minerals with air. Energetic finishing notes of blackberry skin and candied licorice...
Rating 89: Very balanced wine on the fruity side what would be normal for Granache. long nice nose with berry aromas. Overall elegant fruity wine. I paid $13
This wine is a steal. It is a very refined bottle and is very plush. It is medium body and exibits ripe rasberry flavors with hints of vanilla and finishes with a smooth follow through. This would be a great deal at $15 let alone $7.
Along with the ripe fruit I got lots of smoke and meaty notes from this bottle. It was very unique and welcome change up.
I think I had a corked bottle. The last vintage was very good. I'll give it one more try.
I liked this a lot. It worked very well in two wine reductions I made.
Cola, juicy. Milk chocolate. Smooth. A little bland. $19
Echoing the other comments, suprising fruit with a hint of spice at the finish, very drinkable. As I checked my reciepts, @ $7-8 this is a steal, I will be purchasing more to add to my Spanish section
