The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with gorgeous, perfumed aromatics. Sweet red berries, flowers, licorice and spices flow effortlessly from this beautifully delineated wine. Bright, floral notes add lift on the finish. This is a terrific wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2014–2024.

Bright, dark red. Strong rose petal lift to the redcurrant aroma. Sweet, round and easygoing, with juicy acidity giving shape to the cherry and redcurrant flavors. A rather voluptuous cabernet whose firm tannins won't get in the way of enjoying it young. This is the first vintage for new winemaker Brian Kosi, who told me he's trying to soften this wine up somewhat while maintain its andldquo;mountain backbone.andrdquo;
