My Rating 88. Very nice firm texture. Good nose with well balanced. Good deal at $9.-
Say what you want about wine that comes in a big bottle – this malbec from Trapiche, with grapes from vineyards spread across the Cuyo region (La Rioja, Mendoza, San Juan, and San Luis), delivers the basics and does it well. The wine is on the lighter side, but fresh blackberry and blueberry flavors mingle in the mouth, followed by a velvety finish where notes of vanilla and maple surface. You could hardly do better for the price per ounce. (AV 88, http://argovino.com/?p=1043)
Smooth with a modest finish. Nice unobtrusive wine.
Pretty sweet and herbal for a malbec. Attractive scarlet highlights. Not a very interesting nose - a little tannin, but not bad. This is a bit simple, and it has some sugary sweetness to it, but overall it is nice. Definitely worth the $10 I spent on it.
Nose: Maple syrup, raspberry reduction Notes: Raspberry and strawberry syrup, strong concentrated fruit with slight coppery aftertaste. Remarkably drinkable for the price!
