Assyrtiko Domaine Papagiannakos 2019

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine from the website www.henningswine.co.uk for £12.It is made from the assyrtiko grape, which is indigenous to Santorini and widely planted on the Geek islands as well as on the mainland.,by a family concern in Attica near Athens. I started the bottle last night with my supper of fresh tuna.It is a dry but not bone dry wine. There is a refreshing and fruity taste; think citrus and melon.I thought it fairly acidic but not unpleasantly so. In short this is a lovely white wine with plenty of flavours for the drinker

Domaine Papagiannakos:
This is a family concern dating back to 1919. It is on the site of an old monastery about 20 miles from Athens in the Attica region of Greece. There are 40 hectares under vine and a selection of red, rose and white wines are produced
