No acidity, very little tannin, not powerful. On the nose I get leather, cigar box, earthiness. However, if you are buying this wine, make sure you decant it for at least 3 hours. Otherwise, it would taste like regular juice, exactly as is!

If you appreciate the palates that begin with black cherry and plum flowed effortlessly into zesty spices such as clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper and allspice you will truly love this Zin. If you are like me and "the nose means everything"...open it up with your Vinturi or allow sufficient time to decant...and OMG inhale with every sip you take! - It's wonderful! For the price...what a delight! The only reason it didn't give it a 5, from PRICE to "OMG I like this" considered - I'm really a full bodied Merlot, Shiraz, Melbac, Munoz lover and as one could expect...this Zin is a tad too sweet for me. But WOW for the price and what I personally like...not bad..not bad at all! WOW.

WS 90pts - According to the Wine Spectator - A real spice bomb, loaded with black cherry and caramel notes and jammy, appealingly complex huckleberry, toasty licorice and loamy sage flavors. Drink now through 2014. 2,750 cases made.

Garnet red in color, this Zinfandel expresses the forward red fruit profile of raspberry and boysenberry followed by nuances of black pepper, and allspice. Flavors that begin with black cherry and plum flow effortlessly into zesty spices such as clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is racy and plush with richness and full body. The tannins are round and seamless, yet provide solid structure. Created for immediate enjoyment, this handcrafted wine emanates classic varietal expression.91% Old Vine Zinfandel9% Petite Sirah

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes Deep ruby color. The fruit profile opens with fresh blackberries and blackcherry, followed by ripe raspberry jam. More subtle aromas of currants, licorice, black pepper and spice. Entry on the palate is a burst of berries, followed by spices and ripe fruit sweetness. The mid-palate is smooth and round with elegant tannins and a lush finish. This Dry Creek offering shows that Zinfandel can be sophisticated and elegant and gains complexity with pairing. As such, excellent food pairings include roasted duck, veal, and grilled salmon as well as pastas and subtle-flavored cheeses.
