Artesa Chardonnay Carneros Reserve 2009
Rich and racy, this Chardonnay unfolds with heady aromas of pear, apricot, kiwi, and apple that lead to layers of tropical and citrus fruit flavors on the palate. A firm acidic backbone provides lively structure, while the natural sweetness from aging sur lies enriches the texture and mouth feel. Spicy aromatic notes of cardamom and cumin hint at a deeper complexity as the wine develops and lingers through a long, satisfying finish.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

This second tasting (shared a bottle) was great as well. Showed a lot more creamy, buttery qualities, but all in all it remained consistent as when I tasted it at the winery. Delicious.
Agree that there is a buttery and silky smooth taste to this variety. I would also suggest that anyone visiting the Napa region would stop here for a breath taking view off the deck.
