Solid Rhone-style syrah. Full of smoked meat, peppery spice and some leather. Well balanced fruit and tannins. Served with a hardwood grilled black pepper dusted bone-in ribeye, a well-suited companion. Finished the bottle with several cheeses, including Epoisses (delicious!) and Pico Picandine (goat cheese camembert, overpowered by the wine).

Medium to full-bodied with silky tannin, a fleshy mid-palate, and a smooth, persistent finish, this outstanding Syrah should drink well for 5-7 years.Wine Tasting NotesDistinctive and dramatic, this is a showcase wine. In the nose, concentrated aromas of plum, blackberry and licorice mix with a perfume of lychee nuts. Dense, ripe fruit, chocolate and roasted coffee bean flavors give the wine a captivating sweetness on the palate, reminiscent of a perfectly prepared cappuccino. With its formidable structure, chewy tannins and surprising depth, this wine integrates the essence, or terroir, of Saralee's Vineyard with the true varietal character of the fruit. It is a classic example of Syrahs beauty sweetly perfumed, voluptuously textured, and charmingly persistent.
