Food Pairings for Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley
Very good wine but not as good as the Special Reserve. Lots of oak flavors and aroma in this wine (Aged in French and American oak barrels for 23 months, select lots blended and returned to French oak barrels for an additional seven months of aging; bottled unfined, unfiltered), clove and big tannings. Could use some more time to mellow out a bit.
Had again from 2008. It compares very well with 2004 Reserve Special.
Had this at the winery, summer 2008. Monte Rosso vineyard is an exceptional area in Sonoma: It grappes have "the elegance of Sonoma County Cabernet with the structure of Napa ones." Very unique. Try it if you can.

Deep ruby. Ripe cherry, cassis, tobacco and vanilla on the nose, with a subtle herbal undertone. Fleshy dark fruit flavors are supported by gentle acidity, taking on spiciness with aeration. Finishes sweet and persistent, with the dark berry and tobacco qualities lingering. This nicely balanced cabernet is approachable now.
Fruit forward, bright aromas of raspberries and cherries; cola and subtle well integrated oak, round, full tannins; spicy, a bit of cocoa and cola on the palate, nice lingering berries on the finish.
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a burly wine loaded with dark red fruit, mint, flowers, spices and licorice. It reveals good depth and concentration, along with a medium-bodied personality best suited for near and mid-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2016.
Rich, enticing and complex from the first swirl, this wine opens with aromatics of black cherry, black berry, toast, and creme de cassis. These notes gracefully introduce the palate with a harmonious blend of plump berry fruits, notes of cedar, and well integrated tannins on the long, lingering finish.
The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon aged in a combination of French and American oak for 24 months before being bottled unfiltered has a dark ruby/purple-color and a dense nose of black currants white chocolate some toast and vanillin. This medium to full-bodied wine has excellent purity and loads of character. Drink it over the next 10-15 year
