Nice big cab ... good amount of spice and smoke. Long lasting finish.
Love this wine, great cab, really rich and complex
Decanted 1 hour. Deep dark color. Super crimson. The nose reveals casis, currant, cocoa and blackberry. The palate is a super pure core of medium dark fruit. Maybe a bit high on the acid, but this does not detract as much as it usually would. Great mouthfeel and tannin level. This all comes together at the end in a decent finish which may show a wee bit heat. It is a good deal for $18 for 1/2 bottle. WIll be fantastic with 18 months to 2 years age on it.Another great Cabernet from Arrowood in a great year. I will stock up as it's the perfect wine when I am in the 'don't know what I want' mood. 90

Fruit forward, bright aromas of raspberries and cherries; cola and subtle well integrated oak, round, full tannins; spicy, a bit of cocoa and cola on the palate, nice lingering berries on the finish.
Rich, enticing and complex from the first swirl, this wine opens with aromatics of black cherry, black berry, toast, and creme de cassis. These notes gracefully introduce the palate with a harmonious blend of plump berry fruits, notes of cedar, and well integrated tannins on the long, lingering finish.
(raised in a mix of French and American oak): Deep ruby. Ripe cherry, cassis, tobacco and vanilla on the nose, with a subtle herbal undertone. Fleshy dark fruit flavors are supported by gentle acidity, taking on spiciness with aeration. Finishes sweet and persistent, with the dark berry and tobacco qualities lingering. This nicely balanced cabernet is approachable now. The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a burly wine loaded with dark red fruit, mint, flowers, spices and licorice. It reveals good depth and concentration, along with a medium-bodied personality best suited for near and mid-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
This Cabernet has very rich aromas of cassis, black cherries, and plums with nuances of toasty oak in the background. On the palate, the wine shows its underlying depth of dark fruit. It is silky in texture with almost a sweet impression that lingers into a plethora of black fruits, cassis, and a nuance of dark chocolate on the finish.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma includes fruit from the famed Monte Rosso Vineyard. Aged in a combination of French and American oak for two years prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered, it is an outstanding Cabernet boasting a deep ruby/purple color along with copious aromas of creme de cassis, graphite and spice box. Full-bodied with supple tannins, a generous, even corpulent mouthfeel and a long finish, it should drink well for a decade.
The historic Monte Rosso Vineyard is one of the oldest and most celebrated vineyards in Sonoma Valley. Set more than 1,000 feet above sea level at the southwestern end of the Mayacamas Mountain Range, Monte Rosso was first planted in the 1880s. It was purchased by Louis Martini in 1938 and continues to produce legendary fruit from its rugged slopes. Of the 575 acres, 231 are planted to vines. The vineyard takes its name from the red soils composed of loam, volcanic ash, and iron deposits. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is made from a small block of old vines planted in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. The wine offers insight into the soils and climate of this legendary vineyard.
The 2006 Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully dark red in color. The bouquet is highly aromatic, typical of this famous vineyard with notes of dried cherry, cassis, earth, and toast. The palate is complex with notes of black berry, and raspberry intermixed with ripe big tannins that lead into a lengthy soulful finish. Enjoy this wine on its own, or pair it with a range of menus. Try it with pan-roasted salmon, grilled rib-eye, or grilled flank steak, or go for a more refined entrée such rack of lamb or prime rib. With this remarkable wine, you can't go wrong.
