Arrogant Frog Croak Rotie Syrah-Viognier 2010

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

Classic French blend of (red) Shiraz with (white) Viognier. Bright and fresh, but with a softer mouth-feel and bold black and red fruit notes. Incredibly versatile, this wine pairs well with almost anything except white fish.

85% Syrah, 15% Viognier. Syrah vines are between 16 and 26 years old, and the Viognier vines are 11 years old. The soils are clay-limestone with gravel. A classic northern Rhone blend infused with a “New World” attitude. Bursting black fruit is complemented by elegant aromas of violets and spice.

Croak Rotie 2007 - 85 Points & Best Buy, Wine Enthusiast/ The Croak Rotie (a play on Rhone's Cote Rotie), comprised of 85% Syrah and 15% Viognier, is an affordable and well-made alternative to the Rhone counterpart. Red cherry and raspberry fruit dominate the robust palate with lovely nuances of rosemary, cocoa and coffee granules. With 12,000 cases produced, this wine should be easy to find and won't dissappoint.
