Armida Dry Creek Zinfandel 2000

Member Review by surfboy101:

A wonderfully soft and lush nose, with hints of plum jam and chocolate--but not too complex. The bouquet is slightly more promising than the taste of the wine itself; pepper is the first and the last thing on your palate, but in between is a beautiful, jammy, classical zinfandel. We paired it with chili, and this 9-year-old wine had mellowed out just a touch too much for that dish. If you still have this wine in your cellar, recommend you pair it with something you'd match with a young pinot noire or a mellow cab, rather than the tradition big zin dishes.
