Argiolas Vermentino Costamolino 2017

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Very citrussy and fruity on the nose with complicating hints of peach and spicy, antiseptic, polleny floral notes. Juicy and a bit fleshy on entry with depth of flavor that recalls fruit nectar. this is in fact a bit thick on the palate with lovely peach tinged pineapple and clementine flavors. The creamy texture really becomes pronounced on the backend, though the modest finish shows a touch of refreshing austerity that help to refresh the palate. 85pts

This is a very good Vermentino di Sardegna. It smells and teast like pear, lemon and a bit of mediterrenian herbs. The teast stay very long on the thoung. A perfect summer wine.

Aromatic nose, peach and citrus, which was consistent with the taste. Tasted lemon and herbs. Found this perfectly balanced and perfect with my "merluzzo" dish! Great value for a solid balanced flavorful white wine.

It's a good Vermentino, yellow color, aromas of citrus, fresh, on the palate a bit 'too much alcohol but very drinkable

The 2013 Vermentino di Sardegna Costamolino opens to a bright, luminous straw color and lively tones of tangerine, white almond and spring flower. Costamolino makes a terrific value buy and a wine of this freshness and crispness would pair beautifully next to a lightly grilled tuna steak. The finish is cooling and refreshing. A tiny percentage of aromatic grapes are added to the blend and do help to bring noticeable intensity to the bouquet.

A stony base note underscores the flavors of apple, rose petal, melon and spice. Creamy and pretty, with citrusy acidity for balance. Drink now through 2016. 51,000 cases made.

This refreshing white from Sardinia has a dried floral fragrance with a whiff of Mediterranean herbs. The palate offers creamy white peach and mineral flavors that finish crisp and clean.

The Costamolino is from Sardinia, and is made from 100% Vermentino grapes. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks, which helps to emphasize the fruit. The color is somewhere between deep yellow and green. Aromas of fresh peach, herbs (maybe basil?) and a smidgen of honey continue on the palate with great balance and acidity. This wine also has a nice, well-rounded mouthfeel with a citrus finish. It is a perfect warm weather aperitif, and pairs very well with fish and shellfish dishes.

Costamolino is straw yellow in color with green highlights and an intense yet delicate bouquet that displays distinct characteristics of the variety. Supple aromas of citrus, pineapple, tropical fruits and honey are wonderfully supported by a zesty acidity. Delicate and pleasantly refreshing on the palate, Costamolino is the wine of choice for many dishes, from fish antipasti and pastas to vegetables terrine, salads, white meat casseroles, and risotto. Delicious with Asian food and sushi.

The 2011 Vermentino di Sardegna Costamolino is a bit brighter than the Nuragus. Lemon, peaches, crushed rocks and flowers find a good element of focus and length in this beautifully delineated, vibrant white. Anticipated maturity: 2013–2014.
