Archetype Vineyards Shiraz Barossa 2005
this was good - not sure where I got it or how much it cost, but liked it
I was worried that the wine would not be able to carry the alcohol (14.8) or that the wine would express raisin and molasses flavors. Worry not. This wine is bold and balanced and has multiple expressions that are often muted in a blend. This wine is a steal.

Wine Tasting NotesLayers of opulent red berry flavors, with a touch of mocha and smoked meat, this wine has all the characteristics of classic Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. Minimal vineyard irrigation, low yielding vines, and a variety of vine ages (5 years to more than 50 years) gives this Shiraz its layers and fruit intensity, but with a graceful balance.
