Archery Summit Estate Pinot Noir Lightly Nicked Label 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

ORIGIN: The Red Hills Estate vineyard with moderate slopes, shallow soils, and southern exposure produces one of Archery Summit’s finest “vineyard designated” wines. VINEYARD: This wine was produced from the original 1975 planting of the Pommard clone at our Red Hills Estate. The grapes were thinned to 1.4 tons per acre to develop intense, concentrated flavors. WINEMAKING: This wine was vinified by cold soaking the grapes with 40% whole clusters and gently punching down the “cap” one to three times per day. The wine was aged in 100% new, heavily toasted François Frères French oak barrels. Crafted entirely with gravity, this wine was bottled December 1996, unfined and unfiltered. TASTING NOTES: Evocative aromas of smoke, ripe black cherries, marionberries, and spice, are hallmarks of our Red Hills Estate. Complex, powerful, and intense, the rich texture of tannins leads to an opulent mid-palate and a long finish. This wine will grow even more graceful with extended cellaring.

Firm and chewy, with a swarm of tannins around--but not covering--a core of cinnamon-scented cherry and plum flavors. It all echoes beautifully on the refined finish... Wine Spectator. A Pinot Noir wine from Oregon in USA. 2001 Archery Summit Pinot Noir Red Hills Estate 750ml
