Good. A bit dry for my taste. Like blackberries.
Have not had this wine in many years! Remembered that I liked it....and found it again! Nice wine with lots of cherry up front on the nose. Soft tannins and a nice balanced medium body with good structure. Just a great wine for around $25. Wonderful floral notes on the nose! But not easy to find! Enjoy! Cheers!

Granatfarbene Robe mit violetten Reflexen, eine reiche Nase an roten Früchten, vor allem Johannisbeeren, Himbeeren wie auch eine Nase von Lakritze mit leichtem Anis-Duft. Wein mit einer schönen lieblichen Struktur, reiche Frucht, abgerundete Gerbstoffe durch den Körper und den Weingehalt.
Friuli Isonzo, ItalyTenuta di Blasig Merlot is a pure Merlot from the Friuli region in the north of Italy. The Tenuta di Blasig is one of the oldest wineries in Friuli Venezia Giulia that has remained in the same family over the generations. It was founded in 1788 by Domenico Blasig at Ronchi dei Legionari. Elisabetta Bortolotto Sarcinelli is the seventh generation of the family leading the Tenuta di Blasig. She is aided by a team of people passionate about wine, almost all of whom happen to be women. We're passionate about her wine!Tenuta di Blasig Merlot comes from the winery's 16 hectares of vineyards in the Isonzo del Friuli DOC, planted in alluvial soils near the Isonzo River and the Adriatic Sea. The wine is 100% Merlot, medium-full in body with a color of deep garnet red. It offers pleasant aromas and flavors of blackberries, blueberries and raspberries and a rich, velvety palate. The wine was aged in stainless steel with no oak. It is beautifully balanced, reminiscent of a fine Pomerol, and finishes with length and grace. Enjoy Tenuta di Blasig Merlot over the next 5-6 years with roast duck, grilled chicken, BBQ ribs, pasta and aged cheeses.
The 2010 Le Serre Nuove dell Ornellaia shows off tons of concentration and sheer depth. Mocha espresso dark cherries and plums are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. The 2010 is a decidedly powerful virile wine endowed with considerable power. It will be interesting to see how the layers of flavor flesh out once the wine has been bottled. Not surprisingly, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Anniversary Cuvee is fashioned from equal parts clone 337 and clone 6. This was the tenth vintage in which Tor worked with winemaker Jeff Ames. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is spectacular. Aromas of blueberries, creme de cassis, incense, charcoal, graphite and spring flowers make for a majestic set of aromatics. Moreover, the wine hits the palate with full-bodied power, silky tannins, layers of fruit and richness and a 45–50-second finish. It can be enjoyed now for its more primary notes, but ten years of cellaring will provide further nuances, and it will keep for 30 or more years.

Thorn-Clarke is such a talented producer! This lovely Chardonnay is very refined and unoaked in style. On the nose there are notes of meyer lemon and white peach. The flavors of lemon, peach and vanilla are reflected on the palate, as well. This wine is fresh, clean and crisp with a lingering finish. It would pair nicely with ceviche, sushi or sashimi. Troplong Mondot has been slowly increasing the amount of Cabernet Sauvignon in the vineyards. 2010 is the first year featuring a substantial portion (14%) in the blend along with 83% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Previous recent vintages have included about 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Currently the vineyard is planted to 16% Cabernet Sauvignon with the goal set to about 20%. The Cabernet Sauvignon is planted in clay soil as it does not grow well in limestone. Yields were low in this vintage at 32 hectoliters per hectare the same as in 2009. The wine reached 15.5% alcohol. For people that like to compare 2009 came in at 15.4% alcohol. The pH is 3.6 is for the Merlot and 3.75 in Cabernet Sauvignon. Those low levels of pH allow the wine to feel fresh and offer lift. 2010 expresses more lift than 2009. . Midnight black in color with a perfume filled with minerality licorice blueberry blackberry jam and clay this dense chocolate covered sweet boysenberry filled wine packs a lot of wine into the bottle. Sensuous palate staining incredibly concentrated and rich the wine coats your palate. The experience ends with a long bath of chocolate covered blackberries and black cherry liqueur that combine for a hedonistic treat. This decadent wine is one of the great vintages of Troplong Mondot. Jeff Leve.
