Food Pairings for Arca Nova Red
The Vinho Verde region is located in the very North West of Portugal. The name can be translated to “green wine” - not because of its colour but because the region is very green. The resulting wines are low in alcohol, light with a very refreshing acidity. The Quinta das Arcas vineyard has 30ha of 20 years old vines of Loureiro, Trajadura and Pedernã grapes. Under the influence of a very particular microclimate, full flavoured wines are made using the most recent technology. This wine is made from the Vinhão grape. The nose is intense by a wild berries aroma complemented by vanilla and chocolate scents. The palate is dense and musclar but with rounded tannins and a refreshing acidity that blends perfectly with the chocolate and vanilla from the oak barrel. It is ideal to serve with intense flavoured dishes of fish or meat. Should be served between 16°C and 18°C.
