Arbois Chardonnay Puffeney 2004

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

Jacques Puffeney is hailed as the master of the Arbois. We couldn't agree more that he's one of the top producers of these idiosyncratic wines, which many have yet to experience. His Chardonnay is the first grape he harvests each year. It's fermented in stainless steel and then aged in old casks for months before release. What's so distinctive about his wines is the mineral character and leesy, near fresh milk fruit on the palate. Gorgeous yellow stone fruit on the palate with raw honey and pollen on the finish. Great acidity that allows it to hold up to seafood, aged cheeses, and more.
