The wine is not bad in general - it has a good balance and interesting taste but it's unexpectedly sweet and seems like contains some fresh juice... or may be it's too young...

2008 vintage. Recommended by Anya. Alcohol and tar in the aroma. A blend of shiraz, zinfandel, and merlot from California. It adds up to a flavorful mix, with well balanced tannins, sweetness, and sourness. A dash of stale sweetness doesn't spoil the party. A good budget wine.

So sweet as to be almost undrinkable. So many better reds at this price point makes you wonder how they can get away with charging so much.

This is a truly bad wine: extremely sweet, with no hint of sharpness or subtlety. Like drinking blackcurrant juice, this is a red wine for people who don't like red wine.

A good middle of the road red blend. Apothic Red isn't too sweet or too full-bodied, and is excellent for introducing beginning wine drinkers to a red. It functions well as a table wine, as it is very easy to drink.

One of our most popular soft reds. Apothic is an off-dry but full-flavored blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel. Perfect transition for sweet wine drinkers who are looking for something a bit drier, or for red wine drinkers who need something fruity to pair with bold, extra spicy food. Food pairing: red meats, spicy foods Flavor type: fruit-forward Body type: light-medium Finish: rich

Apothic Red is bold and enchanting, as it captures the dark fruit characteristics of Syrah and Zinfandel. These jammy flavors blend well with the elegant blackberry and black cherry characteristics of the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The wine is

Apothic Winemaker Blend is predominately Syrah and Zinfandel, with Merlot and Cab added to the mix. Lots of big jammy fruit with vanilla oak accents.

A smooth easy-drinking blend of Syrah Zinfandel and Merlot Apothic Red is a great alternative to Cabernet or Malbec. With rich black fruit and a silky mouthfeel on the palate this wine is sure to become a new house favorite.
