Apothic Red Winemakers Blend 2010
A captivating blend of three distinct grapes, with the dark fruit flavors of Syrah, brambly spice of Zinfandel, and a smooth elegance of Merlot. Apothic Red reveals intense fruit aromas and flavors of rhubarb and black cherry that are complemented by hints of mocha, chocolate, brown spice and vanilla. The plush, velvety mouthfeel and smooth finish round out this intriguing, full-bodied red blend.
Horrible at first. Gets better as it airs. Ideal to drink 3-4 hours after it has been opened
Upon uncorking a burst of grape aroma filled the area. Pouring into the glass the aroma was even more so. Tasting fills the mouth with a burst of flavor, sweet, smooth, mocha, vanilla, cigarette ash with very mild tannins.Very well balanced and rounded. A blend of zinfandel, syrah, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. I am very pleased with both the price and the quality of flavor.
My Rating 88: Full bodied fruity wine with strong taste of Syrah that give the wine some interesting attributes. Nose is pleasantly fruity with some complexity. Overall a bold wine that will pleae a lot of people. What is lacks is finesse and elegance. But for this price and drinking it with a hearty meal this is a good deal. $ 8.99 at Costco/Orlando
Given to me as a gift. Blend of syrah, merlot, cab and zin. Strong fruit up front with moderate tannins on the finish. Was better the second day. Not bad but not my style.
I have been pushing this wine for a little over a year now. Its a great blend and easily my favorite. It changed my mind about what a blend can be!
Another good red blend. Another of my sipping pleasures. Not too sweet. I decanted for about a half hour. Yum to this wine!
First day undrinkable. Better day 3. Good for the price.
