My Rating: 90. This is a highly unusual Blend with extreme dark grape extracion. The wine is powerful with a strong body. Berry aromas and a hint of bitter.Nose is pleasant and very long. Not a wine for a normal drinker. But those who long for the body of the Zins in the 70's a nice stroll down the memory lane.

This was gifted to us, I just had a light pasta dish with pine nuts, tomatoes and fresh parsley, but an ideal pairing would be with a slightly richer meal. Burnt maple and brown sugar notes where detected in this wine...very nice, hubby and I fell in love with it!

The 2012 taste very muddy, like it was made over the weekend. Older versions used to be acceptable. The 2012 isn't.

Took a shot in the dark with this one and was pleasantly surprised. Nice forward fruit, full body and a big finish. If you're staring at wine in the grocery this one's hard to beat for $10.

Apothic Red reveals intense fruit aromas and flavors of blackberry and dark cherry layered with hints of mocha, chocolate and brown spice. The plush, velvety mouthfeel and smooth finish round out this intriguing, full-bodied red blend. In 2012, consistently warm temperatures with well-timed heat spikes led to slower ripening and riper red fruit flavors in our Zinfandel from Lodi. Most of the Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were selected from our Ripperdan Ranch in the Central Valley, with the balance chosen from the Lodi area. These varieties benefited from equally fantastic weather, producing rich fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry with complex tannins to round out the red fruit characteristics of the Zin in this blend. - WineryVarietal Content: Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet SauvignonTitratable Acidity: 0.54g/100mlpH: 3.74Alcohol Level: 13.5%Residual Sugar: 1.72g/100ml
