Apaltagua Carmenere Rose 2012

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Fruity on the nose with aromas of tart cherries that carry a little sweetness with them along with a little violet note. A bit broad and noticeably sweetish on entry, this has nice chunky fruit that recalls watermelon and cherries on the mid palate, ending with green strawberry notes on the light and refreshing finish. Juicy, plump fun and fresh, this just turns a bit lean on the finish. 88pts

Citrus hints and a hint of dirt. A faint hint of vanilla in there too. Tart, but there's a good hint of fruit in there. Certainly not the roses from years go by. I'd certainly buy it again.
