Delicate and quite floral on the nose with underlying notes of mineral earth, dried yellow fruits and slightly buttery, white chocolaty oak. Vibrant acidity keeps this taut and vivid in the mouth with a bit of a creamy, lemon curd mid-palate fleshing out as it airs. There’s a nice layer of melony fruit in the mouth and excellent length for a modest Macon. This is fresh and delicious showing just a whisper too much oak but so sapid and minerally it’s easy to overlook. 89pts

Pouilly-Fuisse is a great region for those the love crisp, no oak Chardonnays and want to find some great values. Rodet's is very bright with a big granny-smith apple presence but also a nice nutty character toward the finish. Touches of minerals as well. All in all a nice, refreshing wine.

Light but bright apple nose. It's crisp with a hint of sweetness. A refreshing wine with the tiniest edge of spice, baked apples and pears.

crisp, and vibrant citrus aromas, well-structured acidity balanced with the lime, green apple, and honeydew tastes. Very drink-able and of a good value.

Delicate lemony nose with hints of honeysuckle. Well balanced with great flavors of tropical fruits and a nice long fruity finish. Excellent and my pick of the tasting (6 chardonnay's). Very fruity for a Macon Village.

I ordered a half bottle of this when I dined alone last weekend at a Calais restaurant at the start of a Euoropean motorcycle trip.It is from the Passetoutgrains appellation It was one of the few half bottles on the wine list and I had not tried it before.I liked it finding it soft, fruity and subtle. This appellation is a blend of gamay and pinot noir with the gamay making up at least one third

Clear and shiny green-gold color with silvery tints. Deeply packed with fruits and aromas of nuts, fresh almond and acacia flowers notes.Soft and velvety with flavors of honey, brioche and white fruits.

This is a Pinot Noir from the Candocirc;te Chalonnaise (south of the Candocirc;te de Beaune); French Burgundy fans will note the additional ripeness and lower acidity in this example compared to Pinots from further north. Pretty red raspberry and cherry flavors abound, leading into a smooth, earthy finish. Red meat (did someone say Boeuf Bourguignon?) or cheese would match well.

A very subtle touch of wood highlights the spicy red berry fruit and warm earth aromas that continue on the suave, rich and delicious flavors that finish in a textured, dusty and delicious backend. This is considerably riper than its ’04 counterpart and is a perfectly acceptable effort in the context of its modest appellation.
