Antonin Rodet Gamay-Pinot Noir Blend Beaujolais Nouveau 2006
The grapes at Château de Mercey are hand harvested and then de-stemmed. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out in temperature controlled open vats. The cap is punched down twice a day during the alcoholic fermentation. The wine is matured 30% in oak barrels, 70% in stainless steel vats. The wine is a clear garnet red colour. The nose evokes Morello cherry and floral notes. The palate is full of delicious flavours of cherry and plum. It has a satiny texture with fine balanced tannins on the finish.
